Tonight, Tonight
Back a few months now I met blogger C.J Hixon when he came to Vancouver on vacation. We spent his entire week here together and had great fun. It was beyond anything I expected, considering that when I started blogging actually meeting the people I blogged with never even crossed my mind. Adam, C.J and I have now formed a closer friendship even though most of it is still online but at least the next time he comes to Canada he won’t have to pay for accommodations!
There are a lot of bloggers who frequent here that I want to meet some I am sure I will, some there are already plans in motion. It is just a matter of time. Had you told me two and a half years a go I’d be meeting people and actually excited to meet them that I had previously only spoken to on the internet I’d have told you that you were INSANE! I thought I was going to be hiding behind my computer screen not forcing myself to deal with my social anxiety and meeting new people issues through blogging.
At New Years I met local married bloggers Rebecca aka Miss604 and John. I was pretty nervous but all was well and I find I have more fun each time I hang out with them. Through them and subsequent parties and meet ups I have also had the pleasure of meeting Duane Storey and Keira-Anne Mellis. I met Duane a couple months ago and Keira on Wednesday night when Adam and I met up with Rebecca and John, picked up Keira and we headed to Duane’s place to hang with Tony Pierce and his friend Robyn before heading to the Fire Works. Tony is in town for Blogstock 2007 taking place at The Railway Club tonight if you are coming try to get there before 8:30pm to avoid the cover charge. I was pretty happy to have had the opportunity to have met him and Keira on Wednesday pre Blogstock in a more intimate setting.
Tonight will be my first official ‘blogger meet up’, where there should be hords of awesome nerds and I can only imagine the shirts but I will also be thinking of all of my online buddies that I want to meet so bad and I have blogged with for years I know it will be grand fun I am sure but bittersweet as well.

Good times! Blogger meetups ROCK… especially when they’re at our house and there are margaritas involved, or your house with guitar hero that maybe I’ll take a crack at one day but it looks pretty tough and you guys do so well. See you in about 30 mins! :-p
