Oh…thanks so much…I am ALWAYS looking for movie & book advice.

I’ve been wanting to read Into the Wild…& now I will. As for the movie…um…no…I haven’t & will never see it…since that Penn guy RUINED the great book that is Mystic River (if you haven’t read it…you should)…with his over acting…I’ve been generally boycotting the guy & anything he’s attatched to at all.

Into the Wild- weird and wasteful use of screen time. it could have been so much better. Books with movie covers are ridiculous.

Four words…There will be blood. Best picture of the decade.

I really enjoyed No Country, amazing film in my mind, just behind TWbB. Atonement, also enjoyed. The Kite runner was to over the top in my mind, good until he goes back to Afganistan.

I too hate movie covers.

I didn’t care for Atonement. I was not moved by their romance at all. I found it unrealistic. I also hated the fact that the film ended with an interview. It felt like a cop out.

I agree with the movie covers on books. It somehow cheapens the appearance of the book. It makes the book less appealing to me.

I’ve not read/watched any of the above. (Well, I did read The Road actually)

Hubby watched No Country for Old Men and he HATED the ending, said the way it ended made the whole movie pointless.

Movie covers are annoying. It always looks like you’ve only bought the book because you’ve seen the film. And the artwork is always some dull derivative rather than the original and beautiful thing it was before.
