Second Quarter

1 through 25 from the First Quarter of 100 things about me can be found by clicking on this long line of green text.

You will likely want to review it because I started it a long time ago, like before I moved to WordPress even.

So here goes:

  1. The first concert I went to after moving to Vancouver was Jewel.
  2. I try to dance every day and not just with Ellen.
  3. My first concert t-shirt was that of the one and only Neko Case, as Aughra so nicely put it, “you and that shirt! Man.”
  4. I do not use fabric softener. I do when I go home to my parents place though because then when I get back home it reminds me of home, my father has used the same kind for as long as I can remember.
  5. I have a change sorter and save ALL of my change. [our rolled change payed for all of our tips on our honeymoon, saving change RULES]
  6. I initially over react to almost everything but am actually very level headed.
  7. I have ALWAYS spelled words how they sound and thus do not spell good.
  8. As exhibit A. B. C. and D. clearly show, I am a hand talker extraordinaire for life.
  9. I’m often referred to as a ‘childless soccer mom’ by my friends because I rarely leave home without an assorted combination of pain relief drugs, Purell [mini], Tide to Go, Band aids, hand cream [mini], lip balm and gloss, O.B. tampons [regular and super], a pen, hair ties and let us not forget the Visine. This is my purse it all fits nicely inside a small makeup bag.
  10. I have very bad balance stemming from two serious issues with my inner ears, one self inflicted one not.
  11. I have sensitive everything.
  12. If you think you are more clumsy than me then I challenge you to a clumsy contest.
  13. I have an irrational fear of the wind.
  14. As a pre-teen and teen, I got pounded, beat up, bullied [whatever you prefer to call it] to the point of bruised skin on and off my face, split lips and an eventual first attempt at suicide that landed me in the hospital for a week. [some of that one is known but my depression and therapy category is a mess]
  15. I have not worn a watch in years.
  16. I do not own a scale because I refuse to become any more obsessed with weight beyond what I consider normal.
  17. I have an extremely vivid imagination and am prone to exaggerate.
  18. I don’t even want to admit how often I get in the shower with one of the following still on my person: my glasses, a tampon and my personal favourite, my underwear.
  19. I stand up for myself and those I love at all costs.
  20. I love the word plethora.
  21. There is my life before Guitar Hero and then there is my life after Guitar Hero.
  22. I cry at and over everything, seeing a friend WIN on TV, say on CBC’s Test the Nation last Sunday, commercials, TV shows, movies, vacation, SPORTS, CONCERTS, music in general, telling stories and etc.
  23. I think about taking GG down at least once a day.
  24. I am not easy to be friends with.
  25. I yearn to learn how to be an affectionate person without using words.

Friday updates

  • I have to have all the songs on Guitar Hero III open by tomorrow. People are coming over to play and I want all the songs open. I started on hard level because I play on expert now but I got stuck in level seven [hard] so I have had to go back to medium level so I can get everything open. The things I do for my friends, seriously.

Top five total BS reasons I didn’t insist on the cordless guitar being mine and have not even tried it:

  1. I don’t want to get used to it
  2. I LOVE starting almost every sentence with “since you have the cordless guitar on can you please get me…..”
  3. I obviously have issues with ‘excessive’ use as I broke the whammy bar on our original red guitar
  4. I won MAJOR points taking over Adam’s old black and brown guitar
  5. Cordless or not I will still find something to trip and fall over
  • The latest visit with Rhonda was awesome, as usual, but was also bittersweet. Not my place to talk about her life on my site. I haven’t even posted the photos to flickr yet but when I do I’ll do a photo post because we took some pretty interesting photos. Underwear on my head was involved and Adam got a stingray.
  • I have therapy today and BOY do I need it.
  • I haven’t touched The Time Traveler’s Wife since GH 3 came out and I remain on page 50.
  • I bought the new Britney Spears, Blackout at the same time that I bought Puscifer, “V” is for vagina.
  • I’m almost done the second quarter of 100 things about me.
  • Adam and I got new cell phones for free. My phone is so kick ass I can’t even use it or I can but I may have to call in reinforcements to teach me, I got the MOTOKRZR K1(RED) made to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. I have this thing where I hate reading instructions, but I take direction well.
  • I got a change sorter because we save every single piece of change and I love it so much I may dedicate a whole post to it. If you only knew how much money I/we have saved and the things we’ve ended up using it for you’d all start saving your change today.
  • This season of Ellen Degeneres is so good I can hardly handle it.
  • Project GOING GREEN is in full swing we’ve added reusable bags for groceries and drugstore shops and have found even more things to ‘flick off’ and unplug. Friend and fellow blogger Keira-Anne has also done some great posts on GOING GREEEEEEEEEN and even has a Roots, Flick Off t-shirt.
  • Project get all the songs open on Guitar Hero III by tomorrow must recommence now.
  • As of this minute I have 144 unread blog posts on my feed from blogs I actually read because I only have blogs I read on my feed because of you guessed it, GUITAR HERO. [anyone sick of hearing about GH refer to my about page]

My September Lineup

I must ask you to please answer a question for me in my comments, IF you watch CSI Las Vegas I would REALLY LIKE TO KNOW if you think Sara Sidle is going to live or die in the premiere next week. I say she is going to live because I love her, but Adam thinks she is going to die. And in a way her dying does make sense because I just don’t see how they can work a relationship that is out in the open between them on the show, I just don’t see it. The preview for the premiere is dramatic I saw it like ten times last night while watching last season’s finale again. I can’t wait to see how many different hair styles Nick and Greg have this season. PLEASE NO MORE MUSTACHES ON PONCHO!!!!!

That basically brings to me woo hoo next week is premiere week, except that CSI Las Vegas is really the only show I watch anymore that has a September start date, side from ELLEN of course.

Don’t count out our love of shit reality tv though. We somehow got into last season’s Beauty and the Geek and it looks like we are going to watch it this season as well. They played Rilo Kiley in the premiere. Kid Nation looks awesome but we missed it watching America’s Next Top Model, no other reality tv show gets us going like America’s Next Top Model, maybe the Canadian edition but the Canadian edition doesn’t have Tyra and half the the joy watching America’s Next Top Model is waiting to see what drag queen wanna be outfit Tyra is in each week, and ain’t no black woman got a weave like Tyra’s OH NO THEY DON’T. Monday brings the start to Dancing With the Stars, I’m not sure I really like any of the people dancing this year so I may NOT watch it. Apollo just stole that whole bloody show last season. Can’t say I’m not looking forward to him competing here in the 2010 Olympics.

Lost and 24 don’t start till when January? I’m too lazy to check. I got a text message from my buddy yesterday saying that Tony is back on 24, I don’t remember what I responded but it was something like THAT IS BULLSHIT and I got a text back in agreement. I REALLY hope not BUT, 24 just might drop off my radar this year. I love me some Jack Bauer but as my buddy said, “they may as well just bring Palmer back too”. Lost has the potential to be a great season. But it isn’t on yet so that is all I can say. I don’t read rumor sites or anything I read the odd link I get sent on shows I like but that is about it.

Big Love recently ended on HBO, I love everything about Big Love it is by far my favorite show right now and thankfully Adam likes it, they have really and I mean really set the show up to bust out a completly beyond awesome third season. I SO HIGHLY recommend this show either rent it, torrent it just WATCH IT!

And before I go, Bionic Woman premiers on Wednesday and I was a production assistant on set for re shoots for the pilot, the novelty of watching the shows I work on hasn’t really worn off yet and I get really excited when I can run up to the tv and say IM STANDING RIGHT THERE, RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so I am sure I will be checking it out. One of my friends already watched it via torrent before they replaced one of the characters hence the re shoots and HE said it isn’t terrible but it isn’t great, I won’t care I just worked on it, isn’t like I wrote it, cast it and star in it or anything.

Last year for the Oscars Adam was working in Kelowna and I was alone recovering from my ass surgery so I watched the Oscars in my designer Betsey Johnson dress and heels and felt all sexy and shit. I went to bed before they were over.

This year we printed Ballots and filled them out earlier in the day. That is just so awesome that you can print them right off the Oscars’ website! Who knew?

Adam decided to dress up in a suit and when he was out at the corner store getting milk I threw on my wedding dress ‘cept I couldn’t get it done up because I’ve packed on some sweet pounds in EXACTLY six months TODAY and because I am still sick when we finally got it done up when I’d cough we heard wee ripping sounds so I had to take it off. I was going for more of a ball gown feeling for this year’s show but it didn’t work out.

We’d seen quite a few of the nominated films and performances- I was really looking forward to them this year if for nothing more than Ellen. I loved it when she gave Martin Scorsese a script and then Clint Eastwood wanted one too but all he got was a lousy photo. That was funny.

Ryan Gosling looked fantastic representing for Canada. Half Nelson is a kick ass movie if you haven’t seen it. His nomination reminded me of Edward Norton’s second nomination for American History X in that it was a fantastic performance, you knew he wasn’t going to take it, but both performances are MUST SEEEEEEEEEE and both men can still do no wrong in my eyes. Acting wise HOLY I’m married, although I did remind Adam that my innocent crush on Ryan Gosling started in 2001 when he did The Believer which therefore predates him. OBVIOUSLY I love Adam the mostest.

The show was way too long and Cameron Diaz looked stupid. Kirsten Dunst takes the worst dressed EVER award. Abigail Breslin at age 10 looked more mature than Dunst at age 24. Al Gore rocked it out hard and Leo looked like a man. I seriously thought Jennifer Hudson’s right boob was going to explode out of her dress when she was singing, it scared me and I found it distracting. But there was part of me hoping it would bust free as well.

In the end Adam and I tied with 14 of 24 categories correct. I was trailing for a while but caught up because Adam had Babel picked for the big awards and he didn’t even like it whereas I had The Departed for the big ones and cleaned up. I really wanted Mark Wahlberg to take Best Supporting Actor he was hilarious in The Departed but Alan Arkin was also fantastic in Little Miss Sunshine so I was happy to see him win.

If it were up to me Ellen would now host every year, just with less makeup on, I loved her outfits and her hair but was not a fan of her makeup it was a little too girly for my taste.
