I’m Corinna Carlson aka Gus Greeper an award winning blogger, writing about mostly me since 2005. My main focus has always been my depression, the breakdowns, the suicide attempts, hospitalizations, and how I work through it all. My parents live in Indonesia, we work pretty hard on our relationship and sometimes against my dad’s wishes things get extremely intense on here. Adam and I are both working on learning how to speak Indo and on occasion I will write with Indonesian words, I’m not trying to show off or nothing.
Whether it be with my family, myself, or the Vancouver Social Media Scene, I never shy away from the truth. I’m not afraid to stir the pot, and although controversy ensues on occasion you’ll generally see me running into the flames and not out.
Adam Bradley Carlson aka abc4 is the ultimate love of my life, I married him in 2006. We met walking to work in 2003 and have been pretty much inseparable since. We live in a run down three story walk up in the beautiful West End of Vancouver. I’ve lived in this building since March 2000, the landlord in here is over the top crazy and often gets some decent rant posts, I’ve drawn a pretty true to life picture of her which I will link for you RIGHT HERE. If nothing else she is a trip and makes for some good content.
Adam is also a guest poster here on the Greeper but on no sort of regular basis. He went to Simon Fraser University where he was the English Student Union President and Student Society Department Rep where he received a grade of class A shit disturber. We are like two wasabi peas from the same bag.
The most frequently asked question I get is: Why Gus Greeper? or What is a Greeper? There is an explanation post on here, but if you’ve had a look at that there Vulcanesque kitty in the masthead you are looking at a likeness of Gus. Gus and I have been together since 1994. If the scanner was working this is where you would see a photo of me at sixteen with braces on my teeth holding a kitten, a kitten that I was told was a boy, a kitten that was the runt of the litter and has always been a little nuts, a kitten that turned out to be a girl. Gus and Adam have a relationship that is almost creepy or I’m just jealous. You decide.
The only other real player on Gus Greeper is Dr. Vegas, he’s a Sock Monkey. Adam and I started making sock monkeys in 2004 as Christmas gifts and suddenly people wanted to buy them, we were not willing to sell Dr. Vegas thus we started to personalize them for people and The Sock Monkey Army was born. The joy that making sock monkeys for people brings us is simply priceless.
