Gus is extremely particular with who she likes and does not like. She can also love you for 4+ years and then turn instantly on you after you visit her apartment with someone else’s dog; as Ray found out the hard way. (even I had no idea Gus was that snotty).
Gus is a little neurotic, unless she has drooled on you, drops of drool, she does not love you. Even if she has kissed you on the lips, licked the tip of your nose or chin, sat on you, played with you, and/or let you pet her while she is sitting on you; until she drools on you, you are nothing to her.
One of my old roommates who I happened to be really close friends with at the time got ridiculously excited the first time Gus drooled on her. I will never forget it because I accidentally made her feel bad when she was telling me how sweet Gus was being to her and how she sat with her each morning while she read the paper etc. So I asked her if Gus had drooled on her, she said no and I proceeded to tell her that until she was drooled on Gus may like you but you are more a warm lap, just someone to get attention from. I came in the door about a month later to her shrieking that Gus had finally drooled on her.
Gus has a cute little crush on Adam and follows him around and meows after him. It makes me jealous sometimes I won’t lie.
Last night I saw Gus sitting with David after Adam went to bed. I thought Gus would remember him rather quickly as Gus has been around since I was in the 12th grade and David remembers her as a kitten even. She doesn’t hate on David or anything but she is being rather tentative. Just moments ago Gus was giving the tip of my nose some little kitty licks and I just couldn’t help but ask:
Me: Has she given you any kisses yet ?
David: No
Me: Sucks to be you man
Me: You mean, she hasn’t licked you anywhere ?
David: No
